16.12.05   PRIVATE PARTY - Emma's birthday Doo!!! 21 Grams + The Filth N The Fury + Fat Alligator - The Torbothie Inn, Charles St, Shotts

Private party for the crazy horseychikadee herself EMMA (how kool is it that you get a name made from 2 guitar chords ?  Eminor and A !)  anyway....  a private function destined to sail way into unmarked depths featuring a star spangled...well spangled .... !  line up of freaks and various buffets.   Bands we can remember are:  um...  JACK from WIDE-AWAKE (played a solo track), the mighty fat-alligator (LETS ALL START A RIOT !), 21GRAMS and THE FILTH AND THE FURY (Pistols cover band).  Memories include : bottles of wine strewn and laid forefront on tabletops, cheese snack fighting sticks, extreme cheese stick fu fighting moves, food stealin, food fighting, random dance movementos, very tall ladies ?!!!., guitars that implode, rivum sections that actually play the unrehearsed move of the valkyries and a stonkin fun old time.  Its how to live live of the edge long after you've ever wanted to leave and retire with slippers and smoking pipe intact....if you have no idea why I rant here it is :  "!GRAMS get to play 4 new tracks and manage (just ) to do so...simply cos their equipment is cursed.  21GRAMS - Rough setlist included :  TAKE IT OFF (complete with 25 minute - well that's how it seemed - rivum track backing to complement the exorcism of geetar), FREAKY FRIENDS, RATS, LIGHTSABRE COCKSUCKING BLUES, VIDEO KILLED THE RADIO STAR and CRAZY HORSES.   Co-incidentally if any guitar manufacturers out there want to endorse a freak with a habit of breaking guitar strings (unintentionally) please get in touch asap - we need the funds and more importantly the strings........ Good fun, good night and Happy birthday Emma.

29.10.05    HALLOWEEN - The Filth and the Fury , 21 Grams + others (FANCY DRESS !!)- The Torbothie Inn, Charles St, Shotts

The Halloween night from hell....(see the pictures page !)... was a top gig, all bands again rocked -- its only when the first band on plays mainly G N Roses (buns n toasties) and stairway to heaven that you get the feel for the entire nights madness can only surpass all levels of medication that you may have ingested beforehand.  To this end a covers band (sorry guys n gals forgot yer monicka !) started, the 21grams "middled" and the mighty FILTH AND THE FURY pistols cover band ended .  Great fun, great new dances, entirely new parrot friends, and the usual SHOTTS fanatical welcome ensued.  Good gig, good venue, good food, good pints, great abandoned mines scenery and baltic weather, spoke to freaks from Glasgow wide and far and rattled a few noggins in between watching santas 7 neds form a foreign legion line to steal the locals plant and garden implements....bizareee is only scratching the surface of description for this place. Oh and,  Top costumes from just about everyone....

04.10.05    21Grams, Hedspace, Sheepdug, The MacWildhearts and Duvet - The last night of bands at Harleys, Hamilton ..... ever !!!!!!!!!!!

Who ever in their right mind(s) could ever envisage a 4 or 5 band line up - pull it all together at the last minute in a few  in-house house rehearsals - jamm it all into the space of 4 hours of a gig - DVD the whole thing and close a long term gig pub that was the proverbial minceola long before john the baptist ever walked the planet.....um......who you may ask !!!?   is it a burd ?  is it a plane ? nope its the JIMBO-BIG-MAC-HONKA-FEST-2005 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.   bands playing on this night (the last ever (if you didn't know already !) at Harleys Bar in Hamilton included the following :   SHEEPDUG, DUVET, 21GRAMS, HEDSPACE and THE Michty MACWILDHEARTS (in no particular order).   Twas a fitting end to a pub with management who really should have been put "oot wae the bins" long ago.   Formin a sports bar to replace a gigging bar is never a good idea - in particular if the venue in question now resembles mare of a sports bra...anyway...no worries - all rocked, all mad noise, all re-decorated interiors and all enjoyed - the point : If yer goona rock - make sure you do interior decorating afterwards....nuff said ?  (P.S.  DVDs of this gig are for sale/blackmail etc.. call us for quotations and/or concrete shoes.)  Oh and special mention to 2 individuals who made the night special mental.  Paparazzi Pat (PAN) photographer and the rock goddess himself the one and only tottttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttiiiieeeeee !

GIG REPORT : STARKA : 24.6.05

honk de honk....hotter than the toast from satans armpit --- le starka venue was well and truly rocked. A 4 band bill consisting of "Sillllyyyyyiiicide ?" (sorry I have no idea what you were called or how to pronounce it ?), "Austin", THe Plimptons ? (are you called this or otherwise ???) and "21Grams" !.... A right old mix mash of alt rock punk metal freak music was on display in le Brandon street shop Windae. As for the action.. welll first band were pashed but pretty er....consistent ?..
21Grams were also not too far from this dimensionally challengedstate but did manage to perform the following set of attrocities from what i can remember - as my mind was basically trashed with the use of Big Johhnnny's Vietnam Action Playset (i.e. the explosives and firework display going on all around..) :

Kick out the jams
Radio Radio
We Got The Bomb
Stepin Stone
(interlude.....!)
Take You Down
Easy Chair
Lightsabre C********** Blues
Back To Reality
Rats
Crazy Horses

GIG REPORT : TARBOTHY QUOITING CLUB : 11.6.05

oh oh oh the view from the Jihabradean Beer Stained Goggles was thus :
THE DAMPNESS
THE PRATS
21 GRAMS

3 Band bill gig - arriving with the 21grams gunships circa 8pm , received smashinko service from Stan (ala THE BAD MEN) and offers of 5 amps abounded (jeesus beeejeesus -- line 6 and mershalssssss (not chunky chikens)... Good service, good beers, good venue. Sets followed later. But firstly a decision and division of opinion on "Quoiting" --- um what is it ? where is it ? whats it all about ? why throw horshoes ? why not bars of chocolate ?...anyway heres the highlights :

1)Finding an abandoned burn'tttt ooot car to jump upon.
2) Smashing Rocks together in a quarry to enable the "smell" !.
3) wandering aimlessly among the Shott's landscape and hills looking for prisoners.
4) Finding bits of weird burn metal (either UFO landings or old iron core things...!)
5) Launching rocks at a burn out calor gas bottle.
6) Watching the "DAMPNESS" play only to be stopped mid set by the bingo callers next door (TRN IT DOOOON !)
7) Watching the "DAMPNESS" play "Let there be rock" AC/DC classic. Yahooo, fine stuff indeedly.
8) Watching Mr Patton (21 Gwaaaaamssss) try to take a microphone lead for a walk with a stage attached.
9) Using a line 6 guitar amp !.
10) Checking oot the Total Weirness and Surreal positioning of everything in Shotts as a whole.
11) Watching the local hawai 5 ooooooooooo burberry neds remove half a garden (lights, solar panels and all) to the tune of "Hi ho hi ho its aff to work we go)...!!!
12) The sky at night in Shotts, dark deep and very pretty.

The downsides to the gig : Not being able to blow the place up with Pyrovision...... bring oan the next bonfire.

anyway here was the setlist (21 GRAMS) :

Kick Out The Jams
Radio Radio
We Got The Bomb
Steppin Stone
Easy Chair
Lightsabre C********** BLues
